Who serves as showrunner of the DC series Lanterns?

The story behind the answer

Chris Mundy serves as showrunner of the DC series Lanterns.

Mundy is also one of the series’ three credited creators, alongside Damon Lindelof and Tom King. The trio wrote the series bible, which established the show’s characters, setting, tone, and long-term story direction.

Mundy’s role reflects the series’ emphasis on a layered human drama as well as superhero mythology. His previous work on Ozark and True Detective helped convince DC Studios that he was suited to a murder mystery involving Hal Jordan and John Stewart.

Damon Lindelof and Tom King remain important creative figures, but they are not the sole showrunner. Lindelof is known for creating Watchmen, while King previously pitched the concept and worked in the DC Studios writers’ room. James Hawes directed the first two episodes and served as an executive producer, but directing those episodes did not make him the showrunner.
