Who plays John Stewart Sr. in present-day scenes of the DC series Lanterns?

Sherman Augustus plays John Stewart Sr. in present-day scenes of the DC series Lanterns.

John Stewart Sr. is the father of John Stewart and a military figure in the series. Because Lanterns moves between different time periods, the character is portrayed by different actors depending on whether the scene is set in the past or present.

Sherman Augustus appears as the present-day version of John Stewart Sr. J. Alphonse Nicholson portrays the character in flashbacks, while Aaron Pierre plays his son, John Stewart. Cairo Cash Lee portrays John Stewart as a teenager in flashback scenes.

This split casting can cause confusion because several actors are connected to the Stewart family. The decisive distinction is the timeline: Augustus is the present-day John Stewart Sr.
