Who portrays Thaal Sinestro in the DC series Lanterns?

Ulrich Thomsen portrays Thaal Sinestro in the DC series Lanterns.

Sinestro is a former Green Lantern, Hal Jordan’s mentor, and a father-figure influence on him. In the series, he has gone rogue after being consumed by the yellow energy of fear, linking his story to the wider emotional spectrum of Green Lantern mythology.

The character was expelled from the Green Lantern Corps after a failed coup. During that coup, Sinestro killed one of the twelve Guardians of the Universe and was subsequently imprisoned in space. His history gives Hal a personal connection to the series’ larger conflict.

Thomsen was cast in January 2025. The Danish actor has appeared in international productions including The Celebration, The Thing, and Banshee. Lanterns uses Sinestro as a bridge between the grounded Earth investigation and the cosmic history of the Corps.
