Who received the BAFTA Fellowship connected with the 2026 Film Awards?

The story behind the answer

Donna Langley received the BAFTA Fellowship at the 2026 Film Awards. The Fellowship is BAFTA’s highest honour, recognising an outstanding and sustained contribution to film or television rather than a single performance or production.

Langley is a British-born film executive who became chairwoman of Universal Pictures and later chair of Universal Filmed Entertainment Group. Her leadership has encompassed major franchises including Fast & Furious, Despicable Me and Bourne, as well as Universal’s specialty and animation divisions. She also supported filmmakers such as Jordan Peele and Christopher Nolan.

The award is sometimes confused with the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema honour, which went to Clare Binns in 2026. Langley’s Fellowship recognised her long-term influence as a studio leader, her work with creative partners and her support for inclusion and talent development.

She was presented with the Fellowship at the ceremony held at London’s Royal Festival Hall on 22 February 2026. Langley was also appointed a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2020 for services to film and entertainment.
