Jason Paige provides the singing voice for the original Pokémon TV series theme in English.
The song, commonly known as “Pokémon Theme,” was used as the opening theme for the first English-language season. Its chorus includes the famous phrase “Gotta catch ’em all!” and helped establish the English identity of the franchise during its late-1990s launch.
John Siegler and John Loeffler wrote the song, while Paige performed the vocals. Because the song is often discussed alongside the English dub’s production credits, viewers sometimes confuse the singer with the writers or with performers from later Pokémon openings.
The original theme is associated with the Indigo League era and is separate from the Japanese opening theme “めざせポケモンマスター,” performed by Rica Matsumoto.
