Professor Cerise runs the laboratory where Ash and Goh work in Pokémon Journeys: The Series.
The Cerise Laboratory is located in Vermilion City and serves as the home base for the series. Professor Cerise studies Pokémon from around the world, allowing the story to move across multiple regions instead of focusing only on the setting of a single game generation.
Ash and Goh become research fellows at the laboratory. Their assignments take them to the Wild Area in Galar and to locations in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, and Alola. Professor Cerise’s daughter, Chloe, is also connected to the laboratory and becomes an important recurring character.
Professor Cerise is distinct from Professor Oak, who is associated with Pallet Town and Ash’s original journey. Professor Kukui is the Alola researcher and Pokémon School teacher, while Professor Magnolia is connected to Galar’s Dynamax research. The laboratory’s name comes from Cerise City’s English name in the games.
