David Heyman produced all eight Harry Potter films, with J.K. Rowling serving as a producer on the final two.
Heyman founded Heyday Films and became the main producer of the Harry Potter film series. He worked across the entire run, from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 2001 through Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 in 2011.
The directors changed during the series. Chris Columbus directed the first two films, Alfonso Cuarón directed the third, Mike Newell directed the fourth, and David Yates directed the final four. These directors are therefore sometimes incorrectly identified as the series’ overall producer.
Rowling received producer credits on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and Part 2. Heyman later produced other major fantasy projects, including the Fantastic Beasts films and the 2023 film Wonka.
