Who plays Anya Jenkins?

Emma Caulfield plays Anya Jenkins in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Anya is introduced as a former vengeance demon named Anyanka, whose powers and long life end when the spell that made her a demon is broken.

Caulfield first appeared as Anya in 1998, during the show’s third season. The character was originally intended to appear in only two episodes, but her blunt, literal personality and comic discomfort with ordinary human customs made her popular enough to become a recurring character and eventually a member of the main cast.

Anya is often remembered for her relationship with Xander Harris, her fear of bunnies, and her fascination with money and consumer culture. A common mix-up is Mercedes McNab, who plays Harmony Kendall, another Buffy character with a supernatural transformation. Caulfield later appeared as Sarah Proctor in WandaVision, but Anya remains her signature television role.
