Which actor played the nerdy villain Jonathan Levinson?
Answer
Danny Strong
Answer
Danny Strong
Danny Strong played the nerdy villain Jonathan Levinson in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Jonathan begins as a socially isolated student at Sunnydale High School. Danny Strong’s performance helped turn the character from a recurring background victim into a recognizable figure whose insecurity, intelligence, and desire for admiration drive several later stories.
In season six, Jonathan joins Warren Mears and Andrew Wells to form the Trio, a group of would-be supervillains who use technology, magic, and comic-book fantasies to challenge Buffy. Jonathan is the most conflicted member, often showing remorse even while participating in serious crimes.
Strong had originally auditioned for Xander Harris before Nicholas Brendon won the role. Jonathan eventually becomes central to “Superstar,” in which a spell makes Sunnydale believe he is the town’s greatest hero. The character appears in 34 canonical Buffyverse appearances. Seth Green played Oz, Tom Lenk played Andrew, and Adam Busch played Warren, making them frequent sources of confusion.
