Answer
Cormoran Strike
Answer
Cormoran Strike
Cormoran Strike is the private detective at the center of J.K. Rowling’s Strike novels.
Rowling created Cormoran Strike for The Cuckoo’s Calling, published in 2013 under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. Strike is a former Special Investigation Branch investigator who leaves military service and establishes a private detective agency in London. His cases often involve wealthy, famous, or politically connected people, but the investigations also reveal ordinary human motives and personal tensions.
Robin Ellacott begins as Strike’s temporary secretary and becomes his essential investigative partner. Their professional relationship develops across the series, while the books also explore Strike’s family history, physical injuries, and complicated personal life.
Cormoran Strike is not part of the Harry Potter universe. He belongs to a contemporary crime series written in a realistic setting. The novels have been adapted into the BBC television series Strike, in which Tom Burke portrays Strike and Holliday Grainger portrays Robin.
