Who is the main playable protagonist of Resident Evil 4?

Leon S. Kennedy is the main playable protagonist of Resident Evil 4.

Leon first appears as a rookie police officer in Resident Evil 2, where he arrives in Raccoon City during the outbreak. By Resident Evil 4, he has become a United States government agent assigned to rescue Ashley Graham, the president’s daughter.

The mission takes Leon to a rural region of Spain controlled by Los Illuminados. Instead of traditional zombies, he faces human hosts controlled by Las Plagas parasites, along with cult members and mutated creatures.

Resident Evil 4 was released in 2005 and substantially changed the series’ action design. Its over-the-shoulder camera, aiming system, and more aggressive enemies influenced later third-person action games while retaining puzzles and horror elements.
