Which character is the main antagonist of Resident Evil 5?

Albert Wesker is the main antagonist of Resident Evil 5.

Wesker orchestrates a plan to release a weaponized viral agent called Uroboros. He works with Excella Gionne and uses Tricell’s resources while pursuing a vision of forced human evolution.

Chris Redfield and Sheva Alomar investigate biological incidents in the fictional African region of Kijuju. Their mission eventually leads them to Wesker’s facilities and the volcano where the final confrontation takes place.

Wesker had already appeared as a major antagonist in earlier games, especially Code: Veronica and Resident Evil 4. Resident Evil 5 continues his long-running rivalry with Chris, but its version of Wesker is distinct from villains such as William Birkin and Osmund Saddler.
