Who is the main new racer competing against Lightning McQueen in Pixar's Cars 3?

Jackson Storm is the main new racer competing against Lightning McQueen in Pixar's Cars 3.

Storm represents a younger generation of high-performance racers who use advanced training, simulation, and technology. His speed makes Lightning realize that experience and reputation alone may no longer be enough to remain competitive.

The conflict between Lightning and Storm drives the film's racing storyline. Lightning seeks help from Cruz Ramirez, a trainer who eventually becomes central to his understanding of mentorship and succession. The movie therefore treats Storm as both a rival and a symbol of changing technology in professional racing.

Armie Hammer voices Jackson Storm in the English-language release. Storm's black-and-blue design contrasts with Lightning's familiar red body, while his sleek shape emphasizes the newer aerodynamic style that challenges the older champion.
