Cormoran Strike
Answer
Cormoran Strike
Cormoran Strike is the main detective in J.K. Rowling’s crime novels published under the name Robert Galbraith.
Strike is a private investigator based in London. He is introduced in The Cuckoo’s Calling, where he investigates the death of the model Lula Landry. The character is a former Special Investigation Branch investigator in the Royal Military Police and has a prosthetic lower leg after losing part of his leg in Afghanistan.
Robin Ellacott becomes closely associated with the investigations after starting as Strike’s temporary secretary. Their professional partnership develops across the series, while the books combine individual mysteries with longer-running personal and professional storylines.
The series includes The Silkworm, Career of Evil, Lethal White, Troubled Blood, The Ink Black Heart, and The Running Grave. The novels are separate from Rowling’s fantasy writing and use the conventions of modern detective fiction.
