Tom King is credited as a co-creator of the DC series Lanterns alongside Chris Mundy and Damon Lindelof.
King, Mundy, and Lindelof are the three credited creators of the series, and the trio wrote its series bible. King originally pitched the concept, after which Mundy developed it with him before Lindelof joined the project.
King is best known as a comic-book writer, making his involvement particularly relevant to a series based on DC’s Green Lantern characters. He also drew on his previous experience as a CIA counterterrorism officer while developing the show’s investigative elements.
The creators’ work shaped Lanterns as an Earth-based detective story rather than the space opera originally envisioned for an earlier Green Lantern project. James Gunn and Peter Safran are executive producers and DC Studios leaders, but they are not credited as the series’ three co-creators.
