Who directed the action role-playing game Elden Ring?

The story behind the answer

Hidetaka Miyazaki directed the action role-playing game Elden Ring.

Miyazaki is a game director and president of FromSoftware. He previously directed Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, making Elden Ring part of a notable sequence of challenging action RPGs.

Elden Ring differed from some of his earlier projects by placing its interconnected areas inside a broad open world. Players can travel through the Lands Between on horseback, discover optional areas, and approach many encounters in different orders.

George R. R. Martin contributed the game’s overarching mythology, but Miyazaki and FromSoftware handled the game’s direction, design, and development. Martin was not Elden Ring’s director or principal gameplay designer.
