The maximum number of Talisman Pouches a character can hold in Elden Ring is four.
A character begins with one talisman slot and can unlock three additional slots, producing a maximum total of four. Each pouch increases the number of talismans that can be equipped simultaneously, allowing players to combine defensive, offensive, mobility, and resource-focused effects.
The pouches are obtained through key progression rewards rather than ordinary exploration alone. The player receives one from Margit, the Fell Omen, another from Godfrey, First Elden Lord, and a final one after defeating two shardbearers and speaking with the Finger Reader Enia at Roundtable Hold.
Talisman Pouches are not the same as talismans. A pouch expands equipment capacity, while a talisman supplies the actual passive effect. The number four also excludes special combinations such as the Talisman Pouch’s inventory entry itself; the relevant limit is four equipped talisman slots.
