Which item is needed to enter Elden Ring’s Grand Lift of Rold route to the Haligtree?

The Haligtree Secret Medallion is needed to enter Elden Ring’s hidden Grand Lift of Rold route to the Haligtree.

The medallion has two halves. Albus hides the right half in the Village of the Albinaurics, while the left half is obtained at Castle Sol after defeating Commander Niall. Once both pieces are assembled, the player can choose the secret medallion option at the Grand Lift of Rold.

Using it opens the path to the Consecrated Snowfield, a hidden snowy region that eventually leads to Miquella’s Haligtree. The route is optional for completing the main storyline, but it is essential for reaching areas connected to Malenia and several other late-game discoveries.

The ordinary Rold Medallion is a different item. It opens the normal route from the Forbidden Lands toward the Mountaintops of the Giants. The similar names make the two medallions easy to confuse, especially because both are used at the same lift.
