Which Elden Ring boss is fought in the Academy of Raya Lucaria’s grand library?

Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon, is fought in the grand library of the Academy of Raya Lucaria.

The academy is the major legacy dungeon of Liurnia of the Lakes, a region west of Limgrave. After passing through the academy and defeating the Red Wolf of Radagon, the player reaches the debate parlor and then the library where Rennala’s encounter takes place.

Rennala is the head of the academy and a former queen of Caria. Her boss fight has two distinct phases: the first involves breaking the protective enchantment around her students, while the second takes place in a moonlit magical arena.

Defeating Rennala grants the Great Rune of the Unborn and unlocks character rebirth through Larval Tears. Her Great Rune does not work like those that provide combat bonuses; it enables respec and serves a different gameplay purpose.
