Who directed Pixar’s first feature film, Toy Story, during Steve Jobs’s chairmanship?

The story behind the answer

John Lasseter directed Pixar’s first feature film, Toy Story, during Steve Jobs’s chairmanship.

Released in 1995, Toy Story was the first feature-length film made entirely with computer-generated imagery. Lasseter had been a key creative figure at Pixar since the company’s earlier short-film work and led the film’s direction.

Steve Jobs served as Pixar’s chairman and chief executive officer during the company’s development of Toy Story. He helped guide Pixar through its public offering in 1995, which took place shortly after the film became a major commercial success.

Andrew Stanton and Pete Docter were also important Pixar filmmakers and worked on Toy Story, but neither directed the first film. Lasseter later directed A Bug’s Life and Toy Story 2, among other Pixar projects.
