What was the name of the medal Steve Jobs received from President Ronald Reagan in 1985?

Steve Jobs received the National Medal of Technology from President Ronald Reagan in 1985.

Jobs shared the honor with Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak and a group of other technology innovators. The award recognized contributions to the development and commercialization of the personal computer, a field in which Apple had become an important participant.

The medal was created in the United States to recognize technological achievement and innovation. Jobs received it during the period after he had left Apple, following his removal from operational leadership in 1985.

The award is sometimes confused with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which Jobs received posthumously in 2022. Those are different honors, presented in different years and for different formal reasons.
