Answer
Jony Ive
Answer
Jony Ive
Jony Ive designed the iMac under Steve Jobs’s leadership at Apple.
Ive led the design team responsible for the iMac G3, introduced in 1998. Its translucent colored enclosure and integrated form marked a dramatic visual change for Apple and helped signal the company’s renewed design focus after Jobs returned.
Jobs and Ive developed a close working relationship. Their collaboration extended from the iMac to products including the iPod, iPhone and iPad. Ive’s designs emphasized simplicity, material choices and the relationship between hardware and software.
Hartmut Esslinger designed important earlier Apple products, including the Snow White design language, while Paul Rand created the NeXT logo. Dieter Rams was a major influence on industrial design but did not design Apple’s iMac.
