Who composed the score for Toy Story 5?

Randy Newman composed the score for Toy Story 5.

Newman has been the musical voice of the Toy Story films since the original 1995 movie. His score combines orchestral adventure music with the warm, emotionally direct melodies that define Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and their friends. He also wrote the franchise’s signature song, “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.”

Toy Story 5 marks Newman’s return to score the fifth main Toy Story feature. Disney describes him as an Oscar-winning composer, and the film reunites him with the series more than three decades after the first installment. His continuing involvement helps preserve the musical identity of the franchise even as the story introduces a new conflict involving toys and technology.

A common mix-up is Thomas Newman, Randy Newman’s cousin, who composed music for films such as Finding Nemo and Skyfall. Michael Giacchino and Trent Reznor are also prominent film composers, but neither scored Toy Story 5.
