Which actor reprises the voice of Rex in Toy Story 5?

Wallace Shawn reprises the voice of Rex in Toy Story 5.

Rex is the nervous, good-natured green tyrannosaurus who first appeared in the original Toy Story (1995). Shawn has voiced him throughout the main film series and returns for the fifth feature, preserving the character’s familiar anxious energy and comic timing.

The casting can be confused because several recurring Toy Story performers also return. John Ratzenberger voices Hamm, Blake Clark voices Slinky Dog, and Tony Hale voices Forky. Those actors are all associated with major supporting toys, but none is Rex’s voice.

Toy Story 5 continues the franchise’s established ensemble while introducing new technology-themed characters, including Lilypad, a tablet voiced by Greta Lee. Rex’s return is therefore a small but recognizable link to the series’ original toy-box cast.
