Who replaces Timothy Dalton as Mr. Pricklepants in Toy Story 5?

John Hopkins replaces Timothy Dalton as Mr. Pricklepants in Toy Story 5.

Mr. Pricklepants is Bonnie’s theatrically minded hedgehog toy, introduced in Toy Story 3 as part of the group at Sunnyside Daycare. Timothy Dalton supplied the character’s voice in Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4, giving the toy his deliberately grand, stage-actor personality.

Hopkins takes over the role in Toy Story 5. The change is easy to miss because Mr. Pricklepants is a supporting character rather than one of the original central toys. Blake Clark is associated with Slinky Dog, while Ernie Hudson voices Combat Carl in the fifth film.

The character’s name is also sometimes confused with the actor’s identity: Mr. Pricklepants is the toy, not a human performer. Toy Story 5 reunites him with Bonnie’s other toys as they confront the influence of Lilypad, a new tablet that becomes Bonnie’s favorite plaything.
