Which two developers co-created Pokémon Pokopia?

The story behind the answer

Game Freak and Omega Force co-developed Pokémon Pokopia.

Game Freak is the longtime Pokémon developer, while Omega Force is a Koei Tecmo studio known for action and sandbox-oriented projects. Pokopia brought the two developers together for a Pokémon game centered on creating habitats rather than battling through a conventional campaign.

The collaboration reflected the game’s unusual design requirements. Game Freak contributed its Pokémon expertise, while Omega Force brought experience with large interactive environments and construction-focused gameplay. The project was published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company.

Shigeru Ohmori, who directed Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, conceived Pokopia’s idea during development of those games. Omega Force’s experience with Dragon Quest Builders 2 was one reason it was selected to help develop the sandbox elements.
