Toy Story 4 won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature at the 2020 Oscars.
The award was presented at the 92nd Academy Awards ceremony on February 9, 2020. Toy Story 4 was nominated alongside How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, I Lost My Body, Klaus, and Missing Link, and it became Pixar’s eleventh winner in the category.
The film was released in cinemas in June 2019 and continued Woody’s story after the events of Toy Story 3. Its plot follows Woody, Bo Peep, and the other toys during a road trip involving Forky, a craft-project toy created by Bonnie.
A common mix-up is confusing this Oscar with the Academy Award for Best Original Song. Toy Story 3 won that songwriting award for “We Belong Together,” while Toy Story 4 received the franchise’s second Best Animated Feature Oscar. Toy Story 3 had previously won Best Animated Feature at the 83rd Academy Awards in 2011.
