At which fictional daycare does most of Pixar’s Toy Story 3 take place?

The story behind the answer

Most of Pixar’s Toy Story 3 takes place at Sunnyside Daycare.

Andy’s toys are donated to Sunnyside when Andy prepares to leave for college. The daycare initially appears to offer an ideal new home, with many children and a large supply of toys. Its leader, Lotso, assigns the arriving toys to the Caterpillar Room, where younger children handle them roughly.

The toys later discover that Sunnyside is controlled through an authoritarian system. Lotso reserves the Butterfly Room for toys he favors and uses the Caterpillar Room to punish newcomers. Woody escapes and returns with a plan to rescue the others, leading to the climactic garbage-dump sequence and Lotso’s defeat. Sunnyside is therefore more than a location: it represents the danger of a place that looks welcoming but removes toys’ freedom and relationships.
