Which third-party character from Metal Gear appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl? Solid Snake is the answer.
Solid Snake is the protagonist of Konami’s Metal Gear series and became one of Brawl’s two third-party playable fighters, alongside Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog. His inclusion was notable because the Super Smash Bros. roster had previously focused mainly on Nintendo-owned characters.
Snake’s Brawl moveset reflects his espionage background. He uses explosives, grenades, remote-controlled missiles, and a military-style mortar rather than relying only on hand-to-hand attacks. His Final Smash, the Grenade Launcher, lets him fire from a suspended position while collecting additional ammunition.
A common mix-up is confusing Snake with other third-party fighters introduced in later Smash games. Mega Man first appeared in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, Pac-Man debuted in that same generation, and Sonic was the other third-party newcomer in Brawl. Snake later returned in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate after missing the Wii U and 3DS installment.
