Fighting Wire Frames
Answer
Fighting Wire Frames
Melee’s generic Multi-Man Smash enemies are called Fighting Wire Frames.
They are thin humanoid opponents made from glowing wire-like structures, appearing in male and female forms. Fighting Wire Frames replace the Fighting Polygon Team from the original Super Smash Bros. and serve as the standard enemies in Multi-Man Melee challenges.
They appear in modes such as 10-Man Melee, 100-Man Melee, 3-Minute Melee, Endless Melee, and Cruel Melee. Most variants are lightweight and easy to knock away, allowing players to fight large groups quickly. Cruel Melee changes the challenge by making the Wire Frames far more aggressive and powerful.
Their attacks borrow elements from Captain Falcon and Zelda, although they cannot use normal special moves and have simplified abilities. The Wire Frames also appear in parts of Adventure Mode and certain Event Matches. Later games continued the tradition with different generic enemy teams: Brawl used Fighting Alloys, while subsequent entries used other enemy types. The names “Fighting Polygon Team” and “Fighting Alloy Team” therefore belong to different Smash installments, not Melee.
