In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which Castlevania fighter is Simon's Echo Fighter?

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Richter Belmont is Simon Belmont's Echo Fighter. Both fighters come from Konami's Castlevania series, and Richter's moveset closely follows Simon's while giving him distinct visual and gameplay details.

Simon and Richter joined the roster when Ultimate launched for Nintendo Switch on December 7, 2018. Simon represents the original Castlevania hero as portrayed in the series' early adventures, while Richter is especially associated with Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and its follow-up, Symphony of the Night.

Ultimate introduced the official term “Echo Fighter” for characters whose moves, proportions, and overall design are based closely on another fighter. Richter is displayed as an echo of Simon, but he is not merely a costume: players can select him independently and notice differences in animations, effects, and certain move properties.

Trevor Belmont is another important Castlevania character, but he is not Simon's playable echo in Ultimate. Julius Belmont and Alucard likewise do not fill that role; Alucard appears elsewhere in the game rather than as Simon's Echo Fighter.
