The original West End production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child opened at London’s Palace Theatre.
The play began previews at the Palace Theatre in June 2016 and officially opened there on 30 July 2016. It was written by Jack Thorne, based on an original story by Thorne, J.K. Rowling, and John Tiffany. The first production was presented in two parts and continued the story of Harry Potter as an adult.
The Palace Theatre is sometimes confused with other London venues connected with major musicals and plays. It is on Shaftesbury Avenue in the West End. The production later opened in other cities, including New York, Melbourne, and San Francisco, but the original London home was the Palace Theatre.
