Which streaming service released KPop Demon Hunters?

The story behind the answer

Netflix released KPop Demon Hunters as a streaming film.

The movie was produced as an animated musical adventure centered on a fictional K-pop trio. HUNTR/X perform onstage as idols, but they also fight demons in secret. Netflix’s global distribution made the film and its soundtrack available to an international audience at the same time.

KPop Demon Hunters is associated with Sony Pictures Animation, but Sony Pictures Animation is the animation studio rather than the streaming service that launched the film. This distinction is a common source of confusion because the movie’s credits prominently feature Sony’s animation division.

Netflix later supported the title with additional releases and promotional material, including a sing-along version. The movie’s success also helped its original songs become major charting releases, even though HUNTR/X and the Saja Boys are fictional groups created for the story.
