Which South Korean girl group released the 2007 debut single “Into the New World”?

The story behind the answer

Girls’ Generation released the 2007 debut single “Into the New World.”

The group was formed by SM Entertainment and debuted with nine members: Taeyeon, Jessica, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Seohyun, and Yoona. “Into the New World” introduced the group with an upbeat dance-pop sound and became an enduring song in South Korean popular culture.

Girls’ Generation later became one of the most influential K-pop girl groups, with major releases such as “Gee,” “Genie,” and “I Got a Boy.” Jessica left the group in 2014, after which Girls’ Generation continued as an eight-member group for many years.

The debut song is often identified by its Korean title, “Dasi Mannan Segye.” It should not be confused with the debut singles of Wonder Girls or KARA, which were different groups from the same generation.
