Which soup company used the slogan “M’m! M’m! Good!” in its advertising?

The story behind the answer

The Campbell Soup Company used the slogan “M’m! M’m! Good!” in its advertising.

The phrase became closely associated with Campbell’s canned soups and appeared in advertising for much of the 20th century. Its short, conversational wording was designed to suggest that the soups were both tasty and satisfying.

Campbell Soup Company was founded in 1869 in Camden, New Jersey, by Joseph A. Campbell and Abraham Anderson. The company introduced condensed soup in 1897, a development that made canned soup cheaper to transport and easier to store.

Campbell’s is sometimes confused with the slogan “Mm-mm good,” which is a common informal rendering of the same phrase. The company’s red-and-white label also became a famous example of distinctive food packaging and was later celebrated in artworks by Andy Warhol.
