Which song from the first Toy Story is featured again in Toy Story 5?
Answer
You've Got a Friend in Me
“You’ve Got a Friend in Me” is the song from the first Toy Story featured again in Toy Story 5.
Written and performed by Randy Newman, the song became Toy Story’s defining musical theme when the original film opened in 1995. Its lyrics express dependable friendship, matching the bond between Woody, Buzz, and the rest of Andy’s toys. The song’s warm country-pop sound also helped establish the emotional identity of the series.
The composition has appeared in different forms across the franchise. Toy Story 2 uses it during the opening and in a version sung by Wheezy, while Toy Story 3 includes a Spanish-language performance by the Gipsy Kings. Toy Story 4 uses it during memories of Andy and Bonnie playing with the toys, and Toy Story 5 continues that tradition.
“Strange Things” is also from the first film, but it is not the franchise’s recurring signature song. “When She Loved Me” belongs primarily to Jessie’s story in Toy Story 2.
