Which song does Rumi perform to break the public free from Gwi-Ma’s trance?

The story behind the answer

Rumi performs “What It Sounds Like” to break the public free from Gwi-Ma’s trance.

Near the climax of KPop Demon Hunters, Gwi-Ma places the public under a trance and draws them toward a Saja Boys performance. Rumi interrupts the event with an improvised song about shame and self-acceptance.

Her performance reaches Mira and Zoey, breaking them out of the trance and allowing Huntrix to reunite. The song therefore functions as a turning point in both the action and Rumi’s personal story. She no longer tries to hide or erase her demonic heritage.

“What It Sounds Like” is the final song heard in the film as Rumi arrives at Namsan Tower and helps free her teammates. It is distinct from “Golden,” the earlier Huntrix song connected to Rumi’s hope of creating the Golden Honmoon.
