Which song by Rascal Flatts appears in Pixar's Cars?

“Life Is a Highway” by Rascal Flatts appears in Pixar's Cars.

The country group recorded a version of the song for the film's soundtrack. It plays during a lively travel sequence in which Lightning McQueen and Mack cross the country toward California. The song's road imagery fits the film's themes of travel, speed, and the changing communities connected by American highways.

“Life Is a Highway” was originally written and recorded by Canadian musician Tom Cochrane in 1991. Rascal Flatts' version became closely associated with Cars and introduced the song to a new family audience. The soundtrack also includes “Real Gone” by Sheryl Crow and “Our Town” by James Taylor, which are sometimes offered as alternatives. “Route 66” is another Cars-related title, but it is not the Rascal Flatts recording used in the film.
