Bombas makes socks and donates clothing to people in need.
The company was founded by Randy Goldberg and David Heath after they learned that socks were among the most requested items at homeless shelters. Bombas built its brand around a “buy one, give one” model, donating a specially designed item for each item purchased.
The company appeared on Shark Tank in 2014 and accepted an investment from Daymond John. Its donation program later expanded beyond socks to include other clothing products, including underwear and T-shirts. The donated products are distributed through charitable giving partners.
Bombas is often confused with TOMS because both companies became associated with purchase-linked giving. Their products and donation structures are different. Bombas specifically began with socks, while TOMS became widely known for shoes. The Shark Tank appearance helped Bombas gain national visibility and grow its direct-to-consumer business.
