Which entrepreneur is the executive producer of ABC’s Shark Tank?

The story behind the answer

Mark Burnett is the executive producer of ABC’s Shark Tank.

Burnett is a British-American television producer known for developing unscripted competition and business programs. He became involved with Shark Tank after the format was adapted for American television from the international Dragons’ Den concept.

The show premiered in the United States in 2009 and features entrepreneurs pitching businesses to a panel of investors. Burnett’s production role is separate from the on-screen investors, who are commonly called the Sharks.

A frequent mix-up is confusing Burnett with Mark Cuban, who is one of the show’s most recognizable investors. Cuban evaluates pitches on camera, while Burnett works behind the scenes as a producer. Burnett has also produced Survivor, The Apprentice, and The Voice.
