Which region of Elden Ring contains the starting area of Limgrave?
Answer
The Lands Between
Answer
The Lands Between
Limgrave is a region within Elden Ring’s wider world, the Lands Between.
The Lands Between is the main setting of the base game: a vast realm ruled historically under Queen Marika the Eternal and shaped by the shattering of the Elden Ring. Limgrave is the first major open region most players explore after leaving the tutorial area.
It contains landmarks including the Church of Elleh, Gatefront Ruins, Stormhill, and Stormveil Castle. The region also connects to the Weeping Peninsula to the south and Liurnia of the Lakes to the north, allowing players to discover routes beyond the intended early path.
The Realm of Shadow is a separate land introduced in the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, so it is not the name of Limgrave’s world. The Eternal Cities are underground locations inside the Lands Between, not the overall setting.
