Cars 2 features the spy character Finn McMissile.
Finn McMissile is a British spy car voiced by Michael Caine. He investigates a conspiracy connected with the World Grand Prix and initially mistakes Mater for an undercover American agent. Their partnership drives much of the film’s spy-comedy plot.
Unlike the first Cars, which focuses primarily on McQueen’s personal growth in Radiator Springs, Cars 2 expands the setting into an international adventure. Locations include Tokyo, Porto Corsa, and London, and the story uses espionage conventions such as secret identities, surveillance, and high-tech gadgets.
Finn is not the same character as Holley Shiftwell, another British-linked agent who works with him. Mater’s accidental involvement also distinguishes Cars 2 from the franchise’s more local racing storylines. The film was released in 2011 and was directed by John Lasseter and Brad Lewis.
