Which Pixar Cars film features the Florida 500 race?

Cars 3 features the Florida 500 race.

The Florida 500 is the climactic major race in the film, where Lightning McQueen faces the consequences of an aging racing career and the rise of Jackson Storm. McQueen begins the story trying to prove that he can still compete with younger, technologically advanced racers. His preparation with Cruz Ramirez eventually leads to a crucial change in how he approaches the race.

The event also gives Cruz an opportunity to demonstrate her own ability. Cars 3 uses the Florida 500 to resolve both McQueen’s career dilemma and Cruz’s suppressed ambition to become a racer. The race therefore functions as more than a championship setting; it is the point where the film passes experience from one generation to another.

The original Cars centers on the Piston Cup finale, while Cars 2 centers on the World Grand Prix and its spy plot. Those races are often confused with the Florida 500 because all three films combine competition with a character journey.
