Karsten Warholm won the men’s 400-metre hurdles at the 2026 European Athletics Championships in Birmingham in 46.63 seconds.
The Norwegian finished well ahead of Germany’s Emil Agyekum, who took silver in 47.87, and Turkey’s İsmail Nezir, who won bronze in 48.26. Warholm’s time was recorded as a championship record.
The 400-metre hurdles combines one lap of the track with ten hurdles. Warholm is especially associated with the event because he has previously won major global titles and set world-record-level times.
This result should not be confused with the men’s 110-metre hurdles, won in Birmingham by Switzerland’s Jason Joseph. The women’s 400-metre hurdles title went to Slovakia’s Emma Zapletalová.
