Amy Hunt won both the women’s 100 metres and 200 metres at the 2026 European Athletics Championships in Birmingham.
Hunt won the 100 metres in 11.00 seconds, defeating Poland’s Ewa Swoboda and Belgium’s Delphine Nkansa. She then took the 200-metre title in 22.19 seconds, ahead of Ireland’s Rhasidat Adeleke.
Her sprint double was part of an exceptional championship. Hunt also earned gold in Great Britain’s women’s 4 × 100 metres relay and mixed 4 × 100 metres relay teams.
As a result, Hunt became the first athlete, male or female, to win four gold medals at a single edition of the European Championships. That achievement was broader than simply winning both individual sprint races.
