Tony Dungy won a Super Bowl as a player with the Pittsburgh Steelers and as head coach of the Indianapolis Colts.
Dungy entered the NFL as an undrafted player in 1977 and converted to defensive back with Pittsburgh. He played three seasons for the Steelers and was part of the team that defeated the Dallas Cowboys 35–31 in Super Bowl XIII after the 1978 season. Dungy led Pittsburgh with six interceptions that year.
After his playing career, he became a respected defensive coach and later the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Indianapolis Colts. With Indianapolis, he guided a 12–4 team through the 2006 playoffs, including a comeback over New England in the AFC Championship Game.
The Colts defeated the Chicago Bears 29–17 in Super Bowl XLI on February 4, 2007. Dungy became the first Black head coach to win a Super Bowl and the third person to win one as both a player and a head coach. Chuck Noll coached Pittsburgh's dynasty, while Mike Tomlin and Bill Cowher also won Super Bowls as Steelers head coaches, but neither matches both parts of this clue.
