Which coach led the St. Louis Rams to victory in Super Bowl XXXIV?

The story behind the answer

Dick Vermeil led the St. Louis Rams to victory in Super Bowl XXXIV. The Rams defeated the Tennessee Titans 23–16 on January 30, 2000, at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.

Vermeil had returned to coaching after a 15-year retirement from the NFL. His first two seasons with St. Louis were poor, but the 1999 Rams dramatically improved after quarterback Trent Green was injured and backup Kurt Warner took over. The team became known as “The Greatest Show on Turf.”

The victory was the Rams’ first Super Bowl title and their first NFL championship since 1951. Warner was named the game’s MVP, while Vermeil became, at age 63, the oldest coach to win a Super Bowl at that time. A common mix-up is Jeff Fisher, who coached the losing Titans, not the Rams.
