The Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2012) system that lets players modify performance while driving is EasyDrive.
EasyDrive is designed to keep players in motion while they manage their cars. Through its menus, drivers can select performance modifications and switch vehicles without needing to stop and navigate a traditional pause-heavy interface. This suits the game’s open-world structure, where races, pursuits and exploration flow continuously through Fairhaven.
The system is especially useful because different events reward different setups. Players can select upgrades involving areas such as tires, transmission, engine, nitrous and bodywork, then adapt a car to sprint races, circuits, speed runs or police escapes. The game also places many vehicles around the city, so EasyDrive supports quick changes as players discover and unlock them.
Autolog is a common mix-up. It is Criterion’s social competition and recommendation system, tracking friends’ scores and events rather than serving as the driving modification menu. Pursuit Tech and Speedbreaker are gameplay features or abilities, not the system used for changing performance upgrades on the move.
