Which Need for Speed game was developed by Slightly Mad Studios?

The story behind the answer

Need for Speed: Shift was developed by Slightly Mad Studios.

Released in 2009, Shift marked a major change in the series’ direction. While earlier entries such as Underground 2 and Most Wanted emphasized illegal street racing, customization, and police pursuits, Shift focused more heavily on licensed circuits, realistic handling, and a simulation-style driving experience. Electronic Arts published the game for PlayStation 3, Windows, and Xbox 360.

Slightly Mad Studios had roots in Blimey! Games, a team known for racing software, and later became especially associated with the Project CARS series. The studio also developed Shift 2: Unleashed, the 2011 sequel. A common mix-up is confusing the developer with EA Black Box, which created several other major Need for Speed games, including Undercover and The Run. Shift was the franchise’s thirteenth main installment and helped establish the studio’s reputation for detailed racing simulations.
