Which match was scheduled for Monday, 24 August, in the 2026–27 Premier League opening Matchweek?

Fulham versus Chelsea was scheduled for Monday, 24 August, in the 2026–27 Premier League opening Matchweek.

The fixture was set for a 20:00 BST kick-off at Craven Cottage. It was the only match scheduled for Monday and therefore concluded the first Matchweek of the season.

Fulham and Chelsea are both London clubs, but they play at different grounds. Fulham’s Craven Cottage hosted the fixture, while Chelsea’s home stadium is Stamford Bridge. The short distance between the grounds makes this a notable local London meeting.

The match is sometimes confused with Saturday’s London fixture between Brentford and Tottenham or with the Sunday Newcastle–Liverpool game. Those matches occurred earlier in the opening weekend; Fulham–Chelsea was the final scheduled fixture of the round.
